A panel's price is not a system's price. See what a complete rooftop system costs in Raipur and where quotes differ.

People ask for the solar panel price in Raipur as if it were the price of a television. In reality, panels are one component of a power plant that must be designed, installed, protected and approved. This page explains what a complete system costs, what is inside the price and how to compare quotes without being misled by a low headline number.
Quick answer: a quality 3 kW system is about Rs 1.65 to 1.90 lakh and a 5 kW system about Rs 2.6 to 3.0 lakh before subsidy, roughly Rs 52,000 to 63,000 per kW.
| Size | Indicative price | Per kW | Central subsidy | Net cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 kW | Rs 60,000 - 70,000 | Rs 60,000 - 70,000 | Rs 30,000 | Rs 30,000 - 40,000 |
| 2 kW | Rs 1.2 - 1.4 lakh | Rs 60,000 - 70,000 | Rs 60,000 | Rs 60,000 - 80,000 |
| 3 kW | Rs 1.65 - 1.90 lakh | Rs 55,000 - 63,000 | Rs 78,000 | Rs 87,000 - 1.12 lakh |
| 5 kW | Rs 2.6 - 3.0 lakh | Rs 52,000 - 60,000 | Rs 78,000 | Rs 1.8 - 2.2 lakh |
| 10 kW | Rs 5.0 - 5.8 lakh | Rs 50,000 - 58,000 | None above 3 kW | Rs 5.0 - 5.8 lakh |
| Component | Role | Why quality matters |
|---|---|---|
| Solar modules | Convert sunlight to DC power | Output, warranty and subsidy compliance |
| Inverter | Converts DC to grid-ready AC | Most likely part to need service |
| Mounting structure | Holds the array against wind | Storm safety and roof protection |
| Cables and protection | Carry and protect the power | Losses and fire safety |
| Earthing and surge protection | Safety against faults and lightning | Prevents costly damage |
| Installation and commissioning | Skilled labour and testing | Performance for 25 years |
| Paperwork | Portal, feasibility, meter, subsidy | Saves weeks of delay |
Most rooftop modules today are monocrystalline, in PERC or TOPCon form. Higher-efficiency or better-warranted modules cost more per watt. For subsidised systems, modules must also meet the scheme's domestic content rules, which can affect price and availability. See solar panel types and DCR modules and ALMM List-II.
GST on solar equipment was reduced from 12 to 5 per cent in the September 2025 rationalisation. The central subsidy of up to Rs 78,000 is credited after commissioning, so it lowers your net cost, not the invoice. Chhattisgarh has announced a state top-up reported at up to Rs 30,000 for 3 kW and above. See solar subsidy in Raipur.
Quote A: Rs 1.78 lakh, named modules and inverter, galvanised structure, earthing, paperwork and a two-year workmanship warranty. Quote B: Rs 1.52 lakh, "premium panels", no earthing detail, paperwork extra and no workmanship warranty. Adding the likely cost of earthing, surge protection and paperwork to Quote B closes much of the gap, while the warranty difference remains. Quote A is better value.
| Factor | Cheaper quote | Better-specified quote |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | Lower | Higher |
| Structure life | May corrode or bend | Built for decades |
| Inverter reliability | Higher failure risk | Lower risk with service |
| Earthing and surge protection | Often omitted | Included |
| Total cost of ownership | Can rise through repairs and lost output | More predictable |
The solar panel price in Raipur is usually quoted either for a complete system per kW or for panels alone per watt. Most home buyers pay for a complete system, so compare the full scope, not the panel rate alone. These are indicative 2026 ranges, not a quotation.
| Item | Indicative range (2026) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Complete rooftop system | About Rs 50,000 - 65,000 per kW | Falls per kW as size grows |
| Solar panels alone | A modest share of the total, varying with brand and technology | Check the exact model and warranty |
| 3 kW home system | Rs 1.4 - 1.9 lakh before subsidy | Subsidy up to Rs 78,000 for eligible homes |
| 5 kW home system | Rs 2.2 - 3.0 lakh before subsidy | Subsidy capped at Rs 78,000 |
Not usually; low quotes often leave out structure quality, earthing, paperwork or warranties, so compare scope line by line.
It lowers your net cost after credit, not the quoted price; the subsidy is paid after commissioning.

For a complete quality system, roughly Rs 52,000 to 63,000 per kW before subsidy, depending on size, brand and roof. Larger systems cost less per kW.
No. A system also needs an inverter, structure, cables, protection, earthing, installation and paperwork. Panels are the largest single item but not the whole cost.
GST on solar equipment was cut from 12 per cent to 5 per cent in the September 2025 rationalisation, lowering system prices.
It reduces your net cost after commissioning. You pay the full price first.
Equipment tier, structure steel, cable sizing, earthing, paperwork scope and warranty all differ. A far lower quote usually omits something.
