Step-by-Step: From Registration to Subsidy

1. Register on the national portal. Choose Chhattisgarh, then CSPDCL as your distribution company, and enter your consumer number, mobile number and e-mail.
2. Apply for rooftop solar. Log in with your consumer number and submit the application with your chosen capacity.
3. Wait for feasibility approval from CSPDCL. Do not buy or install anything before this arrives.
4. Choose a registered vendor and sign the quotation. The installer must be listed on the portal for your DISCOM.
5. Installation with approved (DCR) modules and a proper structure, earthing and lightning protection.
6. Submit plant details and apply for net metering on the portal.
7. CSPDCL inspection and meter swap. A bi-directional meter is fitted and the plant is commissioned.
8. Upload the commissioning report and a cancelled cheque. The subsidy is normally credited within about 30 days of a clean commissioning, although real timing varies.

• Name mismatch between the bill, Aadhaar and bank account.

Checking an Installer Before You Pay

1. Find the company on the portal's vendor list for Chhattisgarh. A visiting card is not proof.
2. Ask for the module brand, DCR certificate and inverter model in writing.
3. Make sure the quotation lists capacity in kW, structure material, wiring, earthing and net-metering paperwork as included.
4. Never pay the full amount up front. A staged payment tied to installation and commissioning protects you.
5. Ask for the warranty terms: modules usually carry a long performance warranty, the inverter a shorter product warranty, and workmanship is the installer's promise.
