The panels in a brochure are all alike. What differs from one project to the next is the installation: how the structure is built, how cables are routed, how the system is earthed and how it is tested before handover. A supervisor arrives with a drawing, marks the layout and checks it against the roof. Foundations are cast with sealant, the galvanised frames are bolted and torqued, panels are clamped and strings are connected. By the third day, the inverter is mounted on a shaded wall, the earth pits are measured and surge devices are fitted. On day four the crew tests, commissions and photographs everything. The owner receives a commissioning report with earth-resistance values and the inverter app registered in their name. That is what to expect.
